7 misunderstood films that are actually masterpiece

Here is a list of some of the most underrated movies of all time. 

1. Come and See, this is a 1985 Russian, German, Belarusian, English and Serbian movie that depicts the wars brutality and its often misunderstood for its unflinching portrayal of the horrors and conflict and its impact on innocence.

2. Once Upon a time in America, is a 1984 Hollywood movie that tells the tale of a crime with the themes of friendship, loyalty and betrayal. The movie is often overlooked due to its complex narrative and nuanced character structure.

3. Whatever happened to Baby Jane is a 1962 psychological thriller which was well ahead of its time. This film delves into the depth of sibling rivalry and mental deterioration. The movie is often misunderstood for the dark humour that was portrayed in the movie along with a distressing view on fame and aging.

4. The man who would be king is a 1975 that tells the tale of adventure, ambition and pride. Adapted from Rudyard Kipling’s book of same name, the movie has rich storytelling, and explores the themes of colonialism and the human condition.

5. Zodiac. This 2007 movie, inspired from the real life serial killings that shook San Fransico in the 1960s. it was also adapted from the book zodiac by Robert Graysmith. The movie has a stellar cast consisting of 3-time Oscar Winner Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo and Jake Gyllenhaal to name some. The movie has a very slow burn narrative and has given much attention to the tiny bit details.

6. Millers Crossing is a 1990 English movie that is considered to be a noir masterpiece. The movie shows a labyrinth of moral ambiguity and double crosses and is very much underrated for the subtle humour and a complicatedly woven plot.

7. The last one on the list, Mr Nobody. This is movie is a 2009 English movie which has actors like Jared Leto, Diane Kruger, Juno Temple in lead roles. This dystopian movie is visually stunning and explores the choice of fate and the nature of reality. The movie is a very thought-provoking journey and has a very non-linear narrative and existential themes.
